Who runs this place?
I do. I mean, we do. I'm Lawrence and she's Zumi. We've been selling games together since 1996, and I've been selling them since about 1982. We've been primarily using ebay the last few years (our feedback is right here) but before that we owned a retail store in Canada, where we did over a million dollars in sales in three years. Not bad for an independant store in a backwater town! I also maintain GameSX.com, the largest game tech site since 1996. Zumi makes plush consoles that have been featured in Edge magazine, as well as mentioned on dozens of websites.
Why am I telling you this?
Just trying to establish a little trust before we rip you off enter into a business transaction. We've been around a long time, and aren't planning to run off with your hard earned cash.
Sometimes I sense you have a bad attitude. Why?
We're just two normal people. We have a sense of humor, and you may not always agree with it. Does it make us annoying sometimes? Sure! Does it make us less trustworthy? Nuh uh. If you don't like the way handle our business ask yourself one question: Is it important enough to you that we should be told? If so, please contact us. If it just makes you angry and you aren't going to order, please save your time for fights that matter.
Remember that because we are regular normal people we can occasionally get angry at your snarky, self-serving tirades about the language used on this site. If you're gonna bitch at us we might defend ourselves. Civilized emails will (almost) never be responded to with vitriol.
Where is all this stuff?
In Japan, in our house. It's all stacked up in crates and boxes in our place, on no fewer than ten warehouse-racks standing floor to ceiling. Depending on your point of view this is either heavenly or hellish. We've got games and consoles everywhere there's room.
How accurate is the inventory list?
The list is usually updated several times a day, and sold/reserved items are updated before new items are added, so it's always as fresh as the most recently added item on the main page. We hope you'll never pay for an item that's already been sold, but if it does happen, we hope you'll forgive us.
Where do you get the games?
Everywhere. We scour flea markets, a couple dozen shops over the closest three prefectures, and all of Akihabara. Typically we'll do a 'tour' every week, sometimes more often, to find the best prices on the best games.
Can you find _____ for me?
Japan ain't what it used to be. Back in 1995 it was an undiscovered country full of gold. Piles of games could be found and purchased for peanuts. You could find anything you wanted, rare stuff was easily obtained.
Times have changed.
Costs for older games in Japan have skyrocketed over the last two years. There are now dozens upon dozens of resellers searching for and flogging the games that used to be so easy to find. It's getting harder to find anything good at all, let alone special orders, so the answer is No. We can't take special orders or want-lists. Please don't be offended, there's just no way to find what you want when you want, at a price you'll like.
I found ____ for sale on another site, but they won't ship overseas. Can you help?
Yes, we can often order things and remail them to you. Please email us for details.
